Hey Everyone!

I know it's been a bit since I've shown much activity on here, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up of what was going on.

-For a while I had time early in the day to work on art, but since west545 started working with me(as a Security officer), our schedules have been a little wild and extra time has been taken up. His personal vehicle has been out of order since January and we've had to carpool together. In some cases, this required me having to get to work 3-5 hours early. It's too much of a hassle to bring my laptop and tablet to work.

So for the time being, I can only work during my "weekends" which vary from week to week. I am hoping to, in the near future, purchase something like an ipad/pro or Microsoft surface so I can more easily do digital art at work.

-I hoped to be finished with my remaining commissions this past weekend (last tues-wed) but I ended up with a horrific upper respiratory infection. I took those days to rest and try to recover, but it didn't work and this past week I have been struggling with a nearly 40 hour work week and this infection. On top of that, I am currently on day 6 of a 7 day stretch as they moved my days off this week to Thurs-Fri, so I am absolutely exhausted. I am going to take all of Thursday to rest and get some much needed sleep and I will work as much as I can on Friday hopefully getting 1-2 of my commissions done.

-I am continuing my comic, but it's just on the back burner. with all I have going on, it's the LAST thing on my mind. I hope one done with commissions, I can provide an update at the rate of 1 page a month.

-After I finish current commissions, they will be CLOSED indefinitely.  I simple don't have the time nor do I need the added stress. I LOVE my new job and I still love art, but when I have the time to do it, I want to do it for me as a stress relief.  I may take a commission here or there, but as for wide openings, I just can't any more. At least not right now. I hope everyone understands <3

Other than all of that.....

I have an update on a situation some of you may or may not remember as it started a year and a half ago. We have a neighbor who was endlessly harassing and complaining about our three dogs (puppies at the time mind you!) were barking too much. We were at first panicked and worked very hard at training our pups not to bark as much. We succeeded! They hardly bark any more, nothing that can be considered nuisance by any means.

Well, she CONTINUED to harass us for the next 9 months! Our dogs are now almost two and still bark very little. Her recent messages have been saying we are horrible and abusive owners and the we should GIVE our dogs to her and she'll find them a better home. Note we have never met this woman in person, she has never been to our home, never seen our dogs. All she knows is what she hears over the fence. Saying we are awful people, "We leave our dogs out in the cold pouring rain all night" That right there makes me laugh...One, Golden Retrievers, they love the water and happily beg to go out and play. We also have a full covered patio, so even if they were outside, 9/10 they're still dry. As for cold? I live in Southern California. It doesn't get below 40* even in the dead of winter. During the last rain storms it was in the 60's. Our dogs love the cool weather and would rather be out in it than in the warm stuffy house. Heck, when we go in the mountains and play in snow they are over joyed! And finally, leaving them out all night. Ya freaking right. Our Kimber is spoiled rotten and sleeps in our bed, normally right in the middle like the princess she is. Because we get home so late from work, we do let her out to potty before we go to sleep, but shes outside 5-10 min max and then right back in.

Well all this accumulated to her reporting us to the HOA and we had to go in for a hearing because our dogs were "nuisance barkers" We gathered all our evidence, from her harassing messages and other posts. We installed a camera in the backyard about 6 months ago because we wanted proof of our dogs behavior and were worried about her doing something, so there's that. We also printed out a letter and got all of our surrounding neighbors to sign (Save for two, her and another neighbor who has a beef with my father in law for unrelated reasons, but still 7 to 2 makes a point) stating that our dogs didn't bother them.

Well, we got  letter back from the HOA last night and we won! With all our evidence provided we were finally vindicated! We know this won't stop our nasty neighbor, but it helps. If she keeps up the harassment, we're going to try and press charges, because we are tired of living in constant fear and stress for letting our dogs be dogs. I'm just so relieved.

So ya...life in a nutshell right now.

TL;DR: Work is great, but art is slow. We have good doggos <3

It's nice to hear from you!  I hope things calm down for you soon- that sounds like a hectic and busy schedule.  Don't forget to make time for yourself.   And glad to hear you won the case against your nasty neighbor- I hope she stops harassing you guys.  I can only imagine how horribly stressful that must be. x.x
